iter0

The canvas

A design partner that works on your canvas.

Put down what you have: rough notes, a mind map, a screenshot you like, half an idea. iter0 reads the board with you, tells you what will work and turns it into a site you can ship.

The iter0 canvas: Queuebird’s pages beside the founder’s sticky notes and mind map, a pinned comment, and iter0’s reply saying what it will change.

Why a canvas?

Good work comes from a back and forth. The canvas is where you and iter0 have it.

  • Raw input is enough.

You don’t need a polished brief. Notes, a mind map or a screenshot of a site you like give iter0 enough to start.

  • It reads everything on the board.

In a chat, ideas scroll away. On the canvas they stay where you put them, and iter0 reads them every time you ask for something.

  • Feedback before the work.

iter0 tells you what is strong, what is missing and what your rivals already say. Then it builds, and you point at what to change.

How you work together.

  1. 1

    You put it down

Notes, mind maps, images and the pages you have so far.

  2. 2

    iter0 reads the board

It sees each note, each branch and which part of a page it sits on.

  3. 3

    It gives you feedback

What works, what is missing and what to lead with, with the research to back it.

  4. 4

    It does the work

Designs land side by side. Pages change where you pointed and nowhere else.

What you can do on the canvas.

  • Every page, every screen

Each page is a live frame. Switch it between desktop, tablet and phone, and click in to edit.

  • Comments that make changes

Pin comments on several parts of a page and send them together. Each one changes only the part it points at.

  • Designs side by side

Your designs land next to each other at full size, so you can compare them and keep the best.

  • Notes and mind maps

Add sticky notes, text and mind maps anywhere. Group them, copy them and undo any step.

  • Research on the board

The Launch CEO’s findings sit beside your pages, each with its source, so you can see why a line was written.

  • Images in your brand

Describe an image and iter0 makes it on the board, or swaps it straight into a picture on your page.

Where the canvas fits.

It is where your site comes together, between the first question and the pull request.

  1. 1

    Plan

The Launch CEO asks about your idea and researches your market.

Questions about the canvas

Do I need to know design tools?

No. You move around the canvas like a map: drag to pan and zoom in or out. To change a page, point at it and say what you want.

Do my notes end up on my website?

No. Sticky notes, mind maps and research stay on the board. Only your pages are exported or sent to GitHub.

Does it work on a phone?

Yes. Pinch to zoom, drag to move around and tap a page to open it.

What does a pinned comment change?

Only the part of the page it is pinned to. If that part has changed since you pinned it, iter0 stops and lets you pin it again, rather than guess.
